Having been active within Asia throughout 2022, the team supporting the VIP Boeing 757-200 operated by Freedom II has been just as busy in 2023. The aircraft flew a selection of music tours across Europe, the Middle East, Central and South America along with the Caribbean islands.
At the end of February 2023, the VIP Boeing welcomed on board an American band for their long awaited tour around Central and South America. The aircraft offered much-needed space and comfort for the band, their families, and entourage. Throughout the tour, the crew ensured that the guests’ favorite meals and snacks were always on hand. Going above and beyond, the aircraft interior was branded – including custom headrest covers and blankets.
Having not flown on the airframe before and with some bulky music equipment and large baggage, Freedom II offered to position the aircraft early to support a pretour practice run-through to ensure smooth loading and offloading procedures throughout the tour. The aircraft and the crew delivered seven flights across eight destinations.
Only 72 hours later, the aircraft crew were joined by a repeat client and production team who toured South and Central America. After the aircraft landed in Phoenix, seamless coordination between the ground teams and the flight crew allowed for a rapid turnaround and ensured that the aircraft was cleaned and the cabin prepared for the next set of flights.
In early summer 2023, the aircraft flew to Europe ready to begin flying for a popular rock band embarking on their tour across Europe and the Middle East. During the two months’ operation, the band and entourage utilized various sections of the aircraft – including the main cabin and bedroom with a fully-equipped ensuite bathroom. Additionally, Freedom II reconfigured the aircraft seating, removing the table setups in the front of the cabin to accommodate 62 forward-facing business seats. During flights, the band enjoyed a selection of unique meals, prepared on request by the flight crew.
For its last tour in 2023, the aircraft returned to Central and South America, flying 17 sectors across 18 destinations, ending close to homebase in Florida. The ACC team looks forward to supporting more exciting tours in 2024.
